On Friday 29th of April, RUHelp – Russians Against the War, a group of several like-minded people who oppose the war in Ukraine and strive to help people affected by it, together with Ziffer Group and with the support of Banque de Luxembroug organised a charity concert of the famous violinist Alena Baeva and her equally acclaimed husband, pianist Vadim Kholodenko.
The mission of the event was to raise funds to support Ukrainian kids displaced by the war and now living in Luxembourg. Thank you Alena and Vadim. Many thanks to Banque de Luxembourg and Apollo Strategies team.
And most importantly, many thanks to everyone who donated and came to the concert! We are happy to share with you, what we have been able to achieve so far with your help!
We received 61 donations for an amount of 7855 Euro
Around 120 people attended the concert
We received an ample encouragement to continue what we have started
Now, how are we going to use the funds we have accumulated?
After consulting with the administration of the Ukrainian refugee centre in Rollingergrund we have decided to purchase and donate:
Books in Ukrainian language for the children
Board games for the kids and families
We believe that giving children an opportunity to find joy in reading and playing with their peers and families is very important to help them heal from the atrocities of war and the difficult journeys they’ve been to since the start of the invasion.
